Generations of Service

Like Father, like daughter 

Like Mother, like son

There was never a question about what I wanted to do when I grew up; I wanted to serve my country as my father had before me. Never in my life would I have thought my son would follow in my footsteps. Little did I know, that he would go on to be the fifth generation of our family in the defence force. This is a tribute to my father a Royal Australian Navy Vietnam veteran. Sadly my father tragically died in a car accident in 2025 only months before being able to watch his grandson, my son take his oath to serve and protect Australia.

Watching me, watching you 

Feeling watched? The feeling is mutual! This beautiful pelican is a highly observant creature that will frequently watch you back. Because their eyes are placed on the sides of their heads (monocular vision), they often have to tilt their heads to clearly assess a threat, gauge distance, or see what you are doing. Essentially, it's I see you watching me, watching you.
